We’re excited to share that our paper titled “Comparative Analysis of End-Use Electricity Consumption Across Household Occupancy Patterns in the United States” received the Best Poster Award at the ASCE International Conference on Computing in Civil Engineering (i3CE 2025)!

This work, co-authored by Sorena Vosoughkhosravi and Dr. Amir Jafari, explores how different household occupancy types influence end-use electricity consumption—an increasingly critical topic as we move toward smarter, more sustainable energy systems. The study leverages national datasets to compare consumption patterns between single-occupancy, dual-occupancy, and family-occupied households, revealing key insights into efficiency and behavioral impacts.

The recognition at i3CE 2025, held in New Orleans and hosted by the LSU Construction Management Department, is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our research team. The conference provided a vibrant platform for presenting our findings, exchanging ideas, and engaging in forward-thinking discussions on computing in civil and construction engineering.

Congratulations to the team, and thank you to the i3CE 2025 poster judges for this honor!
